Darrell Burkey  - President

Darrell BurkeyDarrell Burkey is the founder of CASE and has been involved with the community sector in the ACT since 1992. He holds degrees in Professional Photography and Information Technology (software). Darrell was a staff IT trainer for the University of Canberra and is currently a Unix Systems Administrator at the Australian National University. He was awarded the Vice-Chancellor's Staff Award for Community Involvement for his volunteer work with CASE. Darrell has contributed to research on issues relating to the equitable access to technology in Australia. He is also a member of the Systems Administrators Guild of Australia.

Amanda Plowright - Vice President

Amanda PlowrightAmanda Plowright has been working for Self Help Organisations United Together (SHOUT) for 10 years in various capacities. Since 2001 she has been the Manager of SHOUT, responsible for all areas of operations including IT support to members. Amanda's community involvement includes serving as the President of a High School P&C association for 4 years and donating her time as the schools representative on the Council of P&C associations. Amanda also worked in the Public Service for 8 years in Salaries and Recruitment, HR Planning and financial estimates areas. During that time she became involved in the implementation and integration of a computerised personnel and organisational record-keeping system Amanda also volunteers as a trained leader for the Stanford "Living a Healthy Life with Long Term Conditions" course, which is delivered in various community settings across Canberra in partnership with ACT Health, ACT Division of General Practice and Arthritis ACT.

Samuel McKeon - Committee Member

Sam McKeonSamuel McKeon is the newest member of the committee, elected in 2008. Sam holds a Bachelor of Arts from The Australian National University where he majored in Politics and History, writing mainly on Internet and society.  He is also working on completing an Advanced Diploma in Computer Forensics at the Canberra Institute of Technology. Prior to studying Sam was purchasing officer for Centre for Sustainable Energy Systems at ANU, and in 2003 held the position of Assistant Support Manager at OzForces Internet. He currently manages a network of websites that range from renewable energy news to tech-blogs and provides boutique web hosting to Canberra customers. At CASE he has run "Joomla! Bootcamp" a Content Management System training day for members, a One Laptop per Child Open Day, and provides casual tech support as a member of the "cable rats" team.
