On-Site Technical Support CASE provides comprehensive technical support for networks and equipment that we have installed to ensure it provides the maximum benefit to member organisations. Our team of technicians have a range of skills and all have qualifications that will be matched to the specific needs of requests. All work is supervised by a qualified Systems Administrator with terms and conditions of the service covered by our Service Level Agreement (90kb pdf file - requires Acrobat Reader to view). If you have special needs or would like to discuss unique situations, we are always happy to assist members.
Network Design and Installation CASE will audit and make recommendations to members regarding the networking of their equipment at no cost. Should members wish to implement recommendations we can provide costings and offer implementation strategies that are typically very cost-effective.
In conjunction with network design/implementation CASE can offer to members very cost-effective management of network servers. Our strategies are based on best practice techniques using free and open source software to ensure powerful and stable systems that are capable of meeting all the needs of member organisations.
Network Cabling CASE is certified to install network data cabling where required. For larger jobs we can also recommend commercial organisations and liaise with them on your behalf. Cabling can be very difficult as it involves a lot of crawling around in ceilings and under buildings. As such we affectionately refer to staff working in this project as 'cable rats'.
Web Hosting - Application CASE rents bulk web space at the world's largest independent web hosting service for re-selling to members. For $10 per month (payable six months in advance) project members will establish your account and provide the information you need to develop and transfer your site to the hosting space. Up to 10Meg of disk space is available for member use and a traffic allowance of approximately 100Meg/day applies. Unless you have your own Internet domain name (see next service) your web site address will be in the form of http://www.case.org.au/my_organisations_name. CASE web sites include features at no cost that most services charge extra for. Some of these options may not be familiar to you if you are new to web sites but could be important to your organisation as your needs increase. Please drop us an e-mail if you would like further explanation of advanced features such as cgi scripting, database integration using MySQL, Microsoft FrontPage support and statistical reporting for site traffic.
Domain Name Registration - Application CASE can provide domain name registration on behalf of our members. There is an annual fee for the registration of domain names. The cost to members for us to register a domain name is currently $24 for a two-year license of an .org.au name and $45 for a two-year license of an .asn.au domain name. Having your own domain name allows your web site to be accessed using an address of the form http://www.myorganisation.org.au. Registering your own domain name also allows your organisation to receive e-mail in the form of This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it .
E-mail Forwarding
Mailing Lists All CASE e-mail lists have the form of listname-list@your_domain_name similar to the CASE member list which is This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it . We can also arrange mailing lists for members without domain names in the form of This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it . A fee of $15 per six-month period applies and you have the choice of either adding/deleting members using e-mail to send a password and commands to your list or allowing CASE project members to action requests on a time-available basis. CASE has been funded to enhance this service and announcements will be made regarding upgraded options and benefits to members in late 2007.
