The ACTPLA has approved the seven storey 114 unit residential development on the Embassy Motel site. Although some significant conditions have been imposed on the developer including the removal of hazardous waste, worrying aspects include permission to remove more trees from the site than approved by the Conservator and the inadequate response to the need for off-street parking. Some Deakin residents feel that the major infrastructure issues have not been addressed, other than in general terms.

The "Notice of Decision" deals with major issues raised by the community on pages 20-23.

There remains the option of a further appeal to ACTPLA and/or the AAT, but it is not known if there will be one.
