Job Description
This position involves providing on-site technical support to member organisations. Primary duties include supporting staff in the use of desktop systems running Windows XP and maintaining associated network infrastructures.
Ongoing training is provided. All work is supervised by a technical supervisor however, applicants are required to have advanced knowledge in the configuration and troubleshooting of hardware, software and operating systems.
This position would suit students desiring professional work experience or those working in the industry interested in additional work supporting community development initiatives.
Selection Criteria
Required

Completion/progress towards a degree/certification in Information Technology or equivalent experience

Demonstrated troubleshooting skills and advanced knowledge of Microsoft and/or Apple operating systems

On-call availability

Ability to communicate technical instructions in natural language with a friendly and patient attitude

Ability to work comfortably within a distributed team and independently

Responsible and professional attitude

Own transport
Desirable

Experience with local area networks

An understanding and/or experience with community development and non-profit organisations

Renumeration
This is a casual position, payment rate between $20 - $25 per hour dependent on experience and level of responsibility accepted. Fixed call-out fee is paid for travel expenses. Possibilities for advancement to permanent part/full time may be possible for the right candidate.

This is a project to offer community and non-profit groups who are members of CASE access to electronic mailing lists to support their projects and enhance current communication networks.
Coordinator Duties and Responsibilities
Plan, schedule and accept responsibility for project milestones in cooperation with the Manager of Technical Services

Research other mailing list projects

Analyse the needs of stakeholders

Project Duration
Project completion date is September 2007 however, the Project Coordinator may be given the option to schedule the project for a shorter duration depending on what percentage of full time employment is desired. For example, the full length of the project would allow for .20 full time employment whereas scheduling the project for completion in half of the time would allow for .40 full time employment
Renumeration
This is a .20 full time position at the level of $40k per annum pro-rata. Working hours are negotiable.
